Walking up to another hot day and with no pool at the hostel, decide to walk to Fremont Street and see what that has to offer as not been there yet. Spend the morning chilling at the hostel catching up on admin before heading out after lunch. With it only being a 20min walk it is close and quite a cool place to check out as has the FREMONT EXPERIENCE, which is a zip wire that goes through the whole of the street as it is under cover and so see a few people flying overhead doing superman poses and others screaming away. It looks fun, but has have already done it in the rainforest in Daintree think that vegas is going to be expensive enough without doing that also.
The street is full of people trying to entertain and get money from a guy in a nappy which is odd, a couple practically naked sshowing off teir bums to chip-n-dales doing photos with tourists. It is a crazy place. The GOLDEN NUGGETT is on this street and famous for the shark tank in the pool where you can go through it in slide, I check that out for a while. It seems cool with nice open bar areas and not super dark like other casinos. The pool is for guests only, but you can pay $35 (£23) to use it or go for free after 7pm, so good to know. The casino has a club here too called gold diggers that is meant to be fun on certain nights.
Walking more along the strip there are a few more casinos and a few grand canyon tour places, which I stop at as want to visit it along with the Zion national park and Bryce, but they seem harder to get tours to go to with only leaving once a week on a Thursday, which doesn’t work for me and it is expensive. There is a camping overnight tour that sounded perfect, but not available until July so might do that on the vegas return before heading back to London. Also being in the hostel there seem to be a lot of people driving so think I will eventually find people going and can hitch a ride. That would also be better as with fun peple rather than a tour bus.
Before it gets too dark and probably not ideal for me to be walking back alone, I head off back to the hostel to get ready for the Omnia night out and picking up some cheap noodles along the way, that apart from the brocoli and bourbon chicken is pretty hard to eat as way too greasy like most American takeaway food.
