Hollywood Trail –
After a quite heavy night in the limo and sound it’s bit of a struggle to wake up and I also have to move rooms so need to be up. Today through the hostel signed up to a Hollywood Sign walk, which is only $5 and there is a good group of us. It’s not too hard a walk slightly steep, but just hot as the sun is relentless. We get a bus to a residential area where there are some pretty big houses all the way up to the top where you get a super close view of the sign like your practically under it. There are so many different walks you can do the main one being the Griffin park hike, but this one was nice as by road and it also passed a famous and secret Garden Of Oz started years ago by a lady who wanted to create something for the hollywood community. It’s very cute.
Cousin day in the park –
Rest of the day as we are back by 1.30pm is spent with Adam and Anna in Santa Monica seeing their place and meeting the dog snow. Originally going to meet in downtown, due to Anna having to babysit for 2 kids and a baby It was more convenient to go to to them. Nice afternoon spent in the park playing rugby catch with the kids and impressed Adam can throw it so far – back from the days he played. The kids are cool although do push their luck with Anna by the end, but that’s kids for you I guess. I’m only there few hours so not back to late in the dark having to face more people talking to them. We grab some pizza for dinner at a nice place local to them and it’s great to experience where they live.
By time I get back it’s about 9pm and pass Sheffield Toby on way to grab some drinks and so he gets me some. Not much going on tonight and mostly a few of us chill in the patio area then try out another speak easy bar called Good Times at Davey Waynes that is cool as you enter through a fridge door into a 1970s decor bar. Head there with Rosie from England and Alex from London and Whistler who sounds Ozzie there with an actual Ozzie from gold coast and met a really fun Ozzie girl they used to work with. A good but not too crazy night.
