Deciding to use this day mostly as a chill out around the Hostel, for the afternoon want to do something close so head to a shopping area that was recommended called Grove and Farmers Market by just getting a 210 bus from Hollywood/Vine.
The area has few parts the first is the cheap outlet type stores like Ross clothing, which I manage to get few denim short bargains on. The other is a really nice street that has its own old fashioned tram going up and down in a loop, nice fountain area playing jazz music, old style cinema, park and sitting area so has a very welcoming feel to it. High end shops like Nordstrom, Apple, Topshop and expensive restaurants. Lots of couples and families here who prob come for the afternoon.
Joined to it is a very cool Farmers Market which has everything you might want with it selling meats, fruit and veg, breads, deserts like these most amazing looking toffee apples and mini eating places with loads of seating in the sun including a cool Spanish place that looks very authentic with hanging chorizo and Spanish dishes on the wall. A good place to get dinner or even champagne at the champagne bar. There is a sports type and Italian pasta bar where the locals are all watching the NBA basketball. I stay there until about sunset before heading back to the hostel for my last night there before heading to Longbeach.
The hostel tonight has a bar crawl for $10 so go out on.
