Arriving pretty late afternoon plus taking so long to find parking, means we just dump our bags and head for happy hour at our bar in Base – Loco. An ok bar and better when it’s busy, we grab food there which is ok but not amazing with enchiladas for me and nachos and burger for the boys.
After food we play a few games of pool, doubling also against two dutch guys that is quite fun.
Then in time for the sunset we have a walk around town to where the boats are and it’s an amazing view with the mountains and the sun coming down over them. It looks so picturesque it actually looks fake or like an oil painting. It really isn’t a large place, but cool how surrounded by all the mountains (The Remarkables.
After the walk we get changed and head out to Extreme Sports Bar as Tahu and Ross want to watch the Rugby as it’s NZ Super League. The bar is quite nice – busy and not too bad a price for drinks. The outside area looks out to the forest and gondola, but is so cold!
By time we leave there we end up back at the hostel and it’s much busier than earlier full of kiwi experience people dancing away and playing drinking games. We stay for a couple then head out to a place called Winnies, which is a main bar/dance club and really busy. Music is generic stuff, ok not great, but its fun enough to have a dance too for couple hours until about 2ish when we head back to the hostel. Like being back in Kuta partying with Tahu on the dancefloor – fun times.
