Finding Nemo the sequel… the last Perth snorkel

With the weather for a change, looking a bit overcast when I first wake up around 7am I use the time to do admin, blogging and chilling. When the sun starts to shine through, I sit in the garden soaking up the rays until I’m convinced that the sun is out to stay and so jump on little Henry ad head to the beach. With the uphill journey this time, being the easiest yet, I can really notice the difference cycling each day has made.

So leaving around 1pm, I cycle up to Mettams pool and explore a few of the beaches just past it as enjoying the bike ride in the sun. Always really tranqil and not busy, it is easy to spend the next 4 hours laying at the beach, reading the 4 hour work week book and sending messages to folk back home. The mix of people at the beach include a few french, group of guys and a french lady who end up chatting to about the fish she saw snorkelling, a few families, a pregnant lady and an old couple who saw previous day and so it must be their local thing to do.

The snorkelling is slightly better today, as visibility clearer and water calmer, so I end up swimming out further until the end of the shallow reef and you hit a big drop that suddenly looks darker blue and a bit scarier so I don’t venture out too far. Always the shark thing at the back of my mind, even if there haven’t been any sightings for a while (or none that I know about anyway!).

Leaving around 6pm, as the sun starts to set I head to the end of Trigg beach which is up on a hill and called BENNION beach. here is a nice spot to stop and watch the sunset through the clouds, as it gives a nice pink reflection on the water and with the rocks and waves it all looks pretty stunning. Sunsets and waves are some of my favourite things.

So by the time I leave it is starting to get dark, but cycling back is no problem and even after a quick stop at the mall, cycling back on the dark is no problem and feel safe. Tamara and McGregor are eating by time I get back, but McGregor offers to cook my steak when I want once he has finished and the bbq is so nice with a jacket, sweetcorn and bbq asparagus. Good to make the most of the nice food, as once I am back on the road it will breadrolls, tuna and noodles haha.

The rest of the night is pretty chilled, watching an OJ Simpson documentary and some mindless NCIS series haha. Saving myself for  night out in town tomorrow and trying to stick to the detox that little bit longer!
