Today we made it to the falls after bit of a drive there including quite a bit of time along winding narrow roads up the mountains to Elands – a very scenic but slightly scary route when big trucks decide to pass by or cars are going way to fast. It’s definitely worth the drive as so beautuful and really high falls making them very powerfall.
We see the view from the top but also want to experience the view from the bottom, which is 500m down but it’s quite steep and does put Nols knees to the test after her calf injury. But we all make it ok, even little Gemma who is pretty scared of getting a leach on her. I’m the only one who does actually, but did no damage and flicked it off quickly. The way up is easier than down as there are plenty of benches to sit at and probably in total only there for an hour. It’s just super sweaty hot as it is also raining, but we are covered mostly by the trees. Gemma has one surprise on the way up with a bearded lizard crossing across her feet and then thinks it’s cool as take a picture it decides to pose for us lol. It’s been another good day out and always a win when the kids have fun and think Darcy wsd impressed with the waterfall.
So for the final night we chill as my bus is at a silly time 1.45am so the kids get happy meals and we finish off the steak abd chicken skewers from the bbq and just have a couple of wines to relax and hopefully make me sleep on the bus. Neolies mum comes along to keep her company on the way back as it will be late and its so nice how much Neolie has been able to help getting me around as Australia is just so big and can be awkward with the transport routes. Will be sad to go but I’m sure I will return again soon.
