After a not so long journey of an hour to Korovou as it is on route, I arrive around 3pm just in time for afternoon tea. Getting onto the island here is quite cool as the boat takes you up to a path that is revealed when the tide is low and so can walk right up to the beach. I can see kiwi bus Chris and his mate siting up the top of the restaurant and it is nice to have some non couples and mates after the blue lagoon. On my boat there are 2 English girls I also met at beachcomer who are really Nice called Jasmine and Mia.
As this is a Eco village we are checked into the main dorm that sleeps about 20 people and is quite basic facilities. Probably the most out of all the islands so far, as the shower is just a hose end pointing out so no shower bit and the electricity is also turned off during the day and after 2am. So with only 1 plus sockets between us all it isn’t ideal for charging cameras.
So once all checked in and during the tea, get signed up to the Mantaray snorkel as this is one of the places that does it along with Mantaray resort. At $42 (20GBP) it isn’t much to see these amazing giants. Up early though at 6.30am – eeek! The main guy who works here Joe tells us us all that there is a beach to visit called Honeymoon beach and is only a short hike over the village.
Together Mia, Jasmine, myself,Chris and Ben head over and it is a really pretty beach also that gets the sunset. The tide is very out so lots of rocks and coral not making it the easiest to swim in. We all walk out far and spot a few blue starfish, which is really cool. We stay there for couple hours hanging out in the water soaking up the rays and taking some cool water pics. Always trying to make the most of the underwater camera.
Heading back just as the sun is setting we all go back and change for dinner, which is called early about 6.30pm with the village drums. A standard buffet it isn’t so bad and filling. As it is a Sunday though there are no activities and no village entertainment, which is shame so it is very quiet night. after dinner no one really drinks and Chris, Ben and i just play cards. The girls jasmine and Mia head to bed as not feeling well after an alergic reaction and being tired, as all up at 6am for the Mantaray snorkel. Overall one of the most chilled nights have had, but nice to relax and rest.
