So one of the short Kiwi Bus stops, we head to cool abandoned mining tunnels, rails and chambers after our fun night at hot water beach. It’s a really cool walk taking about 40mins and starts off going over a suspension bridge that only allows 10people and is very wobbly when on it, but fun. The place is a river surrounded by mountains used for the mining and the main walk starts with old rail tracks that look like stairs, although there are stairs next to the tracks so you can’t use them. At the top there is an authentic looking old mining cart on the tracks, but all chained up so no-one can jump in it.
Other cool things about the walk are the tunnels in the mountains you go through, there are a couple of them and the rock colours and formations in the mountains. A few more suspension bridges to cross over the river and to walk along the side of the mountain and river, which is so calming and scenic.
The last stop is a squeezed in one amd have to run to get to it with one of the guys from the kiwi bus, so it ends up being a mini work out and in the sun that is hot. Cool to do as it’s a relaxing feeling jogging by a fast rapid type river. Not much at the last lookout, just an entrance closed off to one of the mines called CROWN mine.
