So the last couple of days in Auckland spent mainly chilling after going out Friday night and the big walk Saturday. Saturday night got the opportunity to watch a few films and relax as had my own room in Nomads, which isn’t something I’ve really done since travelling. They also had a sauna so managed to chill out in there for an hour. For the films enjoyed watching San Andreas an earthquake film, American Sniper, Barely Lethal and Bad Blood all quite entertaining.
Sunday then felt very refreshed and went shopping in the morning and to see what the Topshop here was like. I had a walk down Queen Street to where the cinema and bowling is and this frteo w. Tgis Then at lunch met up with Andy from Gilies who drove to Auckland from Tauronga where he lives now and about yep hours away. Grabbed some lunch from an oriental market, which was yum getting some flat thick noodles – a dish I’ve not had before Ka Me Tor. Then as Andy is staying here for work Monday we stay in the city managing to get a good value place to stay, which was also quite plush called Grand Windsor so nice to have a bit of luxury after hostels. With super soft bed, plasma TV, wine glasses, big rain shower and even a sauna it reminds me of all the stuff I miss as a backpacker. We grab a few drinks out at the harbour before heading to the room and getting some wood fire pizza.
So a nice and chilled night with few wines listening to tunes and catching up, in the morning it’s a 11am checkout but I manage to get it until 12, so that I can use the sauna and so I don’t have too much time to kill before my 1pm bus to Hamilton and then Raglan. It’s a nice morning making the most of the hotel and living a bit more in luxury.
