Island four Blue Lagoon a 5 star relaxation resort

Arriving about 1pm at the blue lagoon after quite a long boat ride, spent enjoying the sun on the deck after the girls left the boat despite the deck being very very windy. But better up than inside so can appreciate the great views of the islands.  The group on the boat with me as I come off are mostly couples as the resort is more of a honeymoon and family resort than the eco backpacker ones have already been too. But the facilities are much more 5* and form rooms very very nice. Even get 2 towels one for the beach and shower, made into a nice shape for decoration.  With really nice showers providing hairdryers and hammocks outside the room, it definitely is a place you can relax easily. The dive shop they have is also a very high standard and they have so many dive sites that sound amazing. They even do the bull shark dives like at Kuata Island and will 100% do one day – a great incentive to come back.

So as it is lunchtime when we arrive and this being one of the more expensive meal plans you pay for at $109 Fijian (45GBP) head to the restaurant and the main thing that is different here to the others so far is that it is Al La Carte and all the tables are just with the couples or families, so not shared eating so bit harder to meet new people. Luckily on the way I get chatting to one of the other people on my boat who is friendly and nice so he joins me for lunch. A really interesting guy called Matt who is a retired Chief of Police for San Francisco and so has some stories to tell. He is also a Californian which is handy as that is my next stop so can give a lot of travel advice plus now living in Las Vegas. he is here for the diving and booked on morning dives, so find out more about what you see from him after his Dive as the dives really sound amazing.

The rest of the afternoon after the tasty lunch and cold beer is spent chilling around the pool area as there are some really comfy big mattresses all around the pool area and with great sea views its great chance to catch-up on blog and pictures.  Once the sun starts leaving the pool area, I catch the last bit of sun on the beach and try out my cheap snorkel I bought in Christchurch, which isn’t too great as the mask leaks but OK enough to be able to see all the amazing fish just off the beach.
