Hello Sydney – a Bondi nice and Ivy welcoming

After 5 hours of flying and arriving at 7am with hardly any sleep due to TigerAir having the most uncomfortable seats, all I really want is a nice cosy bed. Trying to stay awake on the bus to Bondi, its a pretty easy journey and just have to make sure I had bought my opel card a pre-paid travel card which without it you can’t travel! So I can’t check into my hostel Noahs Backpackers until midday, so as it is the hottest day so far at 42degrees I do a quick scope around of Bondi and hit the beach. Too hot already so feel sweaty unlike Perths climate and more Asia. As I have my day bag with passports and basically my whole life in it, im very paranoid leaving it out on the beach when I need a swim despite leaving it with people. And to make it harder to cool down vs Perth the water is too strong to swim and even standing at the shoreline is pretty dangerous as they crash really hard taking me out with it and then the pull back out is crazily powerful and you have to dig your heels into the sand too stay put, but even that doesn’t help at times. The lifeguard keeps having to come over to get people out the water. Cool to watch tho as love big waves and watching surfers.

I only spend the morning there as it’s too hot and meeting up with Saigon James my fellow essex mate in the city. The buses are pretty easy from Bondi and takes about 40mins to circular quay and we have a drink in Quay Bar and Royal George . James usually works in the opera bar, but today there was a bomb alert so he gets the night ofh, which is awesome as can head out and do a Sydney session! So we head to one of the best clubs in town called the Ivy which has a super nice pool area. During the day its very much like ocean beach as get cabana’s and full of flash people lol.the weather isn’t ideal for it tho as raining and cold so can’t stay outside really. So needing a few drinks we hit the prosecco, as I arrived late as had to go back to Bondi to smarten up and go to pre drinks at James pad which is great location off Kent Street. The music is a bit hip hop so the Pacha night is more me, but James and I rock it pretty well staying til the end. The bus ride home to Bondi is a bit long in the cold and especially doesn’t help when u fall asleep and end up other side of Bondi when it’s in the middle of a storm lol. But got to the hostel safely and ready for few hours sleep as got an early 10am check out.
